In today’s world many people are wandering around trying to understand, to grasp what is occurring and how to resolve what is going on. Once again in this world we find people are doing those things which are right in their own eyes in an attempt to be at peace with themselves. The harder they try the less peace there is. The uncertainness of the future has people fearful. The cancel culture is holding out that now that they have arrived their truth can finally set the world up right. Then you have those who are doing wrong while holding out that doing wrong is good because two wrongs make a right. During all of this you have the fear mongers. They try to push hope through fear in order to bring people to them so they can protect them by keeping them always fearful. Add to this people who are looking toward outer space because that is where a superior intelligence is found. Since we were formed by an accident there must be a better accident out there than here.
People are searching endlessly for hope. When God’s Son, Jesus came to this world the same things were going on. Rome was the dominant power in the world. The Jewish nation had no hope because of the oppression of Rome. Rome preached peace as long as it was their way and any other way was met with the fear and the practice of violence. God had not made any new revaluation of Himself for over 400 years so seemingly that was hopeless. Romans and Greeks were looking for help from space from where the gods of their own making lived. The future was uncertain. We read about Jesus in John 1:10-11 NKJV; “He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.”
God wants us to be at peace. Not a transient, subjective or situational peace but true peace. When Jesus was crucified for our sins and raised from the dead to display to us what peace is available to us, He did not threaten us, hold out to us an uncertain future or attempt to do wrong and make it seem right. No instead He was done wrong and never returned wrong to those who did it to Him. Instead He prayed for their forgiveness. Now He is in heaven and has prepared a place for us but left us a clear and straight path to peace.
John 15:23-26 NKJV; “He who hates Me hates My Father also. “If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father. “But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, ‘They hated Me without a cause.’ “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.
In John 16:33 NKJV Jesus goes on to say; “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
